The Swiss Food Composition Database is owned by the ETH Zurich and the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and was originally published in 2004. ETH Zurich and FOPH concomitantly financed a project to manage and update the database at the ETH Zurich during the period from October 2006 until April 2009. Since May 2009 the database is financed only by the ETH Zurich.
The database is openly accessible through the website www.swissfir.ch. ETH Zurich is supported by the Network of Excellence EuroFIR.
